Good dental hygiene...

is always important, even on a movie set. Good job, Lacey. Have a great time in India. We'll miss you.

The big splat

This is what the cake looked like after a bus ran over it.

Wasn't it pretty?

Day 18 of filming...was yesterday

We have a week left - which feels rather odd. It's all gone by so fast. Let's see...last week consisted of shooting a couple scenes of "high school" life, of filming 'Armagedon', of filming Dave's 'party', of filming a courtroom scene, more scenes with cars - though not the complicated ones yet, and many cool bikers!
Friday night we took over the Juneau cul-de-sac for a couple of hours and filmed the climax of the movie. This included Hollywooding a crashing car, many bikers who were willing to drive up and down the street many times as we tried to capture the scene perfectly. Oh - and a classic corvette that wasn't allowed to move. It was an eventful night with over 30 extras on set who were not used to camera acting. Organized chaos. But fun, unforgettable organized chaos.
Saturday we only filmed for a half day, but it was the last time we'll be filming with Lacey (who plays Laney). She leaves for India today. We send her off with many prayers for health, safety, and a good time over there!
In the week to come we still have much to film, but mostly we'll be dealing with Ted and Bert, our two policemen. So - many burgers and fries wil be eaten/dropped/run over. Ah well.

Bikers!

The Christian Motorcyclists Association has graciously agreed to be part of the production. Their ability to participate will make a huge, fun impact on the finale of the film. They began shooting tonight and will have one or two more night shoots next week. This really looks like a fun crowd.

The top two pictures show the group getting instructions about what to expect. The next shot is the back of the guy who is looking at the camera in the last photo.

Tonight there were more than a dozen, maybe two, motorcyclists, a couple of sport cars and a police car, along with a lot of spectators from the neighborhood where they were shooting. Very exciting. I'll ask AmyLeigh to write a little about what the night was like for the crew and cast. The small time I was there looked like a lot of fun, but I wasn't the one trying to organize that many people!

Good job, everybody! Can't wait to see what it looks like.

Vaughn and Jamey, before and after

Well, they are not in order, but you get the idea. Less hair came after!

Jamey Durham, (in the tie) is the producer for Dave's 16th. He is also playing a police officer in the film.

Vaughn Donahue is the 1st A.D. and also played a waiter/date of Cindy. He waited until after his bit in the film was wrapped before he shaved his head.

As you can see, these guys not only have multiple looks, they are also multi-talented and we are fortunate to have these guys on the set and involved in this film. Thanks, guys!

Eugene as Frank

Eugene plays Frank, the bully/stalker/ex-boyfriend of Cindy.

He makes a good bad guy. He's actually very nice and friendly. He very willingly cut his longish hair for his role.
(That's Pendell, behind him.)
